The Collection
M.G. Salazar’s visual art spans several mediums, blending folk symbolism, history, revolutionary iconography, and sacred ancestral strength into bold, stylized forms. Deeply rooted in the cultural and natural landscape of New Mexico, their work draws from devotional art, native botanicals, and the visual language of resistance.
Influenced by magical surrealism, MG invites viewers into dreamlike realms where time bends and archetypes reawaken. Through textured brushwork, exaggerated features, and intentional patterning, the pieces evoke a sense of both personal myth and collective memory; intimate, political, and transcendent.

Paula Angel Portait
Paula Angel Portait
Portrait of Las Vegas' most famous murderess, Paula Angel.
Betrayed by a man who promised her marriage, Angel decided to bring her revenge in the shape of a knife in her rebozo. She embraced him, and stabbed him several times in the back.
The sheriff took a particular glee in arresting, imprisoning, and hanging Paula Angel - twice.
MG Salazar lives in the exact area this happened, and painted this portrait as a reminder that Las Vegas women are not to be messed with.
